Charles Thompson says Home Depot did not discriminate against an employee when it fired her for allegedly giving a customer inappropriate markdowns, as trial began against the company.

Patricia Tillotson claims the company falsely concluded she was involved in a scheme to give a large-scale buyer improper discount on items and instead dismissed her because of her age, disability, and the fact that she had complained about the same conduct for which the company ultimately accused her.

However, Thompson, representing Home Depot, outlined the company's investigation into the conduct and called Tillotson's claims untruthful during openings of the California trial, in Los Angeles Superior Court.
