In this pharmaceutical fraud litigation proceeding, plaintiff State of Texas (ex rel Allen Jones alleged Jannes L.P. (subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson) of defrauding the Medicaid program through its off-label promotion of the atypical antipsychotic drug Risperdal. The plaintiffs counsels claimed that Janssen misrepresented the risks and approved used of Risperdal, including use in children and that the State of Texas was defrauded by having to pay for Medicaid prescriptions for Risperdal for off-label uses, costing the state millions.
The plaintiff was represented by attorneys Cynthia O Keefe, Thomas Melsheimer, Tommy Jacks, Patrick Sweeten, Natalie Arbaugh. The defendant in this case, Jonson & Johnson was represented by attorneys Stephen McConnico, Bryan Lauer, John McDonald and Steve Wingard.
