Summary

Brandon Lewis, 25 and mentally challenged, died while participating in a sleep study at the Emory Clinic to determine if he was suffering from sleep apnea. His mother, Renee Lewis, filed suit against the clinic claiming he should not have been made to lie down during the study because of his pre-existing medical condition and that Brandon Harris, because of his mental status, felt he could not disregard the instructions he was given.
