This product liability proceeding is a retrial of an Accutane lawsuit that originally resulted in $10.5 million verdict.
In this proceeding, plaintiff Kamie Kendall accused defendant, pharmaceutical manufacturer Hoffman La-Roche, of concealment and failure to warn of the risks of gastrointestinal disease associated with the company's Accutane acne medication, which Kendall claimed caused her inflammatory bowel disease. Kendall's colon was ultimately removed because of the disease.
