Summary

In this Engle progeny tobacco litigation proceeding, plaintiff Despinda Hatziyannakis (personal representative of the estate of Chris Hatziyannakis) alleged R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co of fraudulent concealment of dangers of smoking cigarettes manufactured by the company which led her husband Chris Hatziyannakis to get addicted to smoking at an early age. The plaintiff also alleged the company of manufacturing defective cigarettes which caused Mr. Hatziyannaskis lung cancer and resulted in his death in 1993.
The plaintiff was represented by attorney Crane Johnstone. The defendant in this case, R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co was represented by attorney Kenneth Reilly.

The jury allocated 68% fault to the plaintiff, and awarded economic damages of $114,609, general damages of $155,000, and no punitive damages.
