In this Engle progeny tobacco litigation proceeding, plaintiff Cindy Evers (personal representative of the estate of Jacqueline Loyd) alleged R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co, Lorillard Tobacco Co and Philip Morris Tobacco Co of fraudulent concealment of dangers of smoking cigarettes manufactured by the companies, due to which her mother Jacqueline Loyd got addicted to smoking and also alleged the companies of being liable for manufacturing defective cigarettes which resulted in Mrs. Loyds death due to Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
The plaintiff was represented by attorneys Michael Trentalange, Brent Bigger and Hendrik Uiterwyk. The defense in this case comprised of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company, Lorillard Tobacco Co and Philip Morris Tobacco Co. R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co was represented by attorneys John Walker and Mark Seiden.
