The Blitch and Bowman Engle tobacco cases were filed together, but tried separately.
In this Engle progeny tobacco litigation proceeding, plaintiff Patricia Bowman (personal representative of the estate of Mike Bowman) alleged R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co of fraudulent concealment of dangers of smoking cigarettes due to which her husband Mike Browman got addicted to smoking at an early age. The plaintiff also alleged the company of being liable of manufacturing defective cigarettes due to which Mike Brown died of esophageal cancer.
The plaintiff was represented by attorney Robert Shields and John Kalil. The defendant in this case, R J Reynolds was represented by attorneys Benjamine Reid, William Latham and Amy Hurwitz.
