In Malpractice Trial, Pathologist Says Teen’s Fatal Blood Clots Could Have Been Detected Before Her Death

Pathologist Dr. Kris Sperry testifies that 15-year-old Hailey Chapman suffered from blood clots for at least three weeks prior to her death, and that the clots could have been detected with a CT scan. Chapman’s mother, Virginia, sued Dr. Snehal Parikh, claiming his failure to properly treat or investigate the child’s intestinal symptoms led to her death.
