Nursing Staff Acted Reasonably Attempting to Prevent Patient's Bed Sores, Defense Argues in Openings

Michael Stewart tells jurors healthcare and rehabilitation staff used appropriate measures to try to prevent Diane Reimert from developing bedsores, but she often exercised her right to refuse those measures. Reimert died following complications from pneumonia that her family claims were caused by the bedsores. They are suing the nursing home in which she stayed as well as rehabilitation and health care staff.
