Brent Bigger, representing Jim Lourie in his Engle progeny tobacco suit against R.J. Reynolds, Philip Morris, and Lorillard, tells jurors that Barbara Ruth Lourie tried and failed to quit smoking for many years, and was so addicted to cigarettes that she continued to smoke after cancer treatment. Jim Lourie claims a conspiracy to hide the dangers of smoking led to his wife's nicotine addiction and cancer.
