Defense in Malpractice Suit Urges Jurors Not to Decide Case on Sympathy

Defense attorney Todd Miller tells jurors in closing statements that his client, Dr. Snehal Parikh, acted appropriately in treating 15-year-old Hailey Chapman. Miller claims Chapman's death was caused by her “medically complex” condition rather than negligence. Chapman’s mother, Virginia, sued Parikh for the child’s death.
