Melvin Wright says Valton Sheffield bore all the signs of an addicted smoker, including his nervousness and anxiety when he went without cigarettes. Sheffield, a smoker for more than four decades, died after bouts of lung cancer. His family, represented by Wright, claims R.J. Reynolds’ concealment of smoking’s dangers caused his nicotine addiction and death.
