Summary

In this oral argument before the Delaware Supreme Court, the attorney representing appellant Claude Lacombe contended that the lower court abused its discretion by sentencing his client to a term of natural life imprisonment violating his constitutional right under the 8th Amendment of the United States Constitution.
Mr. Lacombe was involved in a shooting incident at Harbor Club Apartments that occurred on December 26, 2012. On January 28, 2012, Mr. Lacombe was arrested on an outstanding warrant. On September 17, 2013, Mr. Lacombe appeared before the Honorable M. Jane Brady for sentencing. On the charge of Murder 2nd Degree, Mr. Lacombe was sentenced to natural life in prison.
