UP hired BEEMAC to move a vehicle, BEEMAC subcontracted it to Landstar and it was given the an employee named Edling. Edling dropped the vehicle off at the designated spot and left the keys with the vehicle. The controversy come from what happened to the vehicle between the time of dropoff and when a train struck the truck which had, by some unknown mean, ended up on the tracks
